This was an outstanding movie by Spike Lee, one of the best. I still believe he should have won an academy award for Malcom X and Denzel should have won for best actor. Miracle at St. Ann is one of the only factual motion pictures about the African-America n soldiers and what they endured during this time in American history. I encourage anyone who really wants to learn something about this struggle to see it. By the way - there are 18 miracles in this picture.
I don't think I've ever seen a Spike Lee movie. For me, the story line and time line attracted me. This movie was great! Go see it! You'll like it and walk out of the movie feeling the same.
I must take the strongest exception to 'C''s review of 'Miracle' posted here.rnI went in to see this film with very negative expectations and came out completely blown away.rnFar from being boring - it is merely well-plotted and builds to a climax that absolutely punches you in the gut. I couldn't believe the boldness of Mr. Lee's statement.rnI 've seen about 40 films at the theatres this year and I can honestly say that this was the most powerful cinema experience I've had in 2008.
BORING! Don\\\'t waste your money on this one! It had a good underlying message, but sure didn\\\'t need 3 hours to show it! The preview for it makes it look like an awesome suspense murder mystery with someone on trial for an ancient artifact, what a disappointment! It had such good possiblities. What a waste. I can\\\'t even bring myself to give it one star, but I have to.
Awful. It would take an editing miracle to save this uneven, slow moving, boring and a needlessly LONG mess.nnThe actors all appear to be a group who never quite finished Acting 101 who have a tendency to overact to compensate.nn Cliche saturated characters and script. nnWorse aspect of all is the background music. Silly music that would be appropriate for a light hearted mystery or comedy which is heard following scenes where someone gets their head blown off. So, what kind of movie am I watching?nnTh e story is ridiculous with coincidences that boggle the mind. Random scenes appear out of no where with no connection.nn Yes, the combat scenes are very well done and other scenes generate genuine shock. But, everything seems to be forced, uneven and inconsistent.n nSpend your movies $$$ on something else.nn
